Tasting Notes

A fragrant wine showing macerated strawberries, plums and subtle spice from whole bunch fermentation. Balanced oak with interwoven soft tannins provide length. Pinot has really found its home at Poachers.

Winemaking Notes

Fruit was hand picked and sorted in the vineyard before fermentation in 2 tonne open top fermenters with 50% whole bunch. A four day cold soak then lightly worked till dry. Elevage took place in French oak barriques for 11 months, 15% new oak.

Vintage Notes

2023

An unseasonably wet winter and spring saw the latest bud burst in our vineyard on record. Once the season finally got started mild conditions produced amazing flavor and laser acidity.
