Serves 2
2 bagels
4 slices gruyere cheese
1 pk Poachers pastrami
1 cup sauerkraut
Dill pickles
For spicy Russian dressing
½ cup mayonnaise
1 tsp capers
6 cornichons – finely sliced
Dollop tomato sauce
A squirt of sriracha sauce
Dash fish sauce
Pepper
Heat the oven to 180◦C. – or a sandwich press. Cut bagel in half horizontally, place a slice of cheese and a few loosely folded slices of pastrami, some sauerkraut, and another slice of cheese. Cover with the top half of bagel—place in an oven or sandwich press. Cook until the cheese has melted.
For the spicy dressing – whisk all the ingredients together and adjust to taste.
To serve – open the bagel and add the dressing and place some pickles on the side.
